The Big Chicken

Halloween is on it's way and for that, we need to take pictures of the big chicken. She actually likes to be in her Halloween costume but she gets hot quickly and then starts to try to scratch her ears. She did well sitting through our torture today though. She will find all the trick or treaters interesting since she is so fascinated with little kids.

The Ponytail Mohawk

The girls at daycare have a blast styling Elizabeth's hair. Usually they just put in a couple of ponytails on top but this time they have outdone themselves and made a ponytail mohawk. Too funny...

Learning to walk!

Elizabeth is learning to walk from this little gadget we borrowed from Shane and Tennille. She loves it and can't wait to use it every morning! She sees it when she comes downstairs for breakfast and pretty much won't eat breakfast once she gets "behind the wheel". She is doing really well keeping her balance with it and regulating the speed. She is really good with steering into Daisy also. It's only a matter of time before she is walking all on her own and then we are in trouble.

New car seat!

Riding rear-facing must not be fun since Elizabeth would get pretty upset riding in the car recently. We moved to a new car seat and faced her forward and now riding in the car is FUN! She waves at things we pass on the road and likes to look out the window now. Making a long distance trip shouldn't be a problem now!

And now she is upright...

Elizabeth is a busy girl every day now. She spends her time at day care shelf surfing and keeping the girls on her toes. She won't eat baby food anymore (and I don't blame her, it's not good) so she has discovered new foods like speghetti, pancakes, fish sticks, chicken fingers, french fries, and her favorite - Speghettios. She likes to try new foods all the time but it hasn't done anything to get her out of the 25th percentile on her weight compared to other kids.

Her new favorite move is to walk along the furniture, her taller toys, the tables, or to have us walk around the room with her. Crawling was fun for a week but she would rather try to walk instead. She has tried to use Daisy to steady herself but that doesn't always work...

Playtime with the pets...

Ralphie is convinced that Elizabeth needs to have him around her at all times. It doesn't matter if she pulls all his hair out, or if she pulls his tail and ears, or if she just lays on him and plays. He sits there and lets her do all that she wants to him. She has figured out that he will also play with any of her toys if she dangles them in front of him. Oliver, the other cat, still wants nothing to do with her since he sits back and watches her pull his hair and extremities.

First Vikings Game!!

When we found out we were going to have a baby, we spent a lot of time tracking down Elizabeth's athletic jerseys. She had her Viking's jersey long before I think we knew she was going to be a girl. She now fits in it well but since she is so skinny, I have a feeling we won't need to scour the Twin Cities for a new one anytime soon.

We still have our season football tickets but she won't be going to games for a long, long time. She really likes to watch the games on TV though...mostly because I think there's a lot of action to see. She usually has other activities to attend to so she doesn't watch too long. Usually it has to do with dumping the dog's toy box over (see toy mess behind her).

Sever's Corn Maze

We took Elizabeth to the local corn maze in Shakopee, MN this year. Jason and I have been saying for years that we were going to go and walk the corn stalks, get lost, get sunburned, and spend hours trying to get out. That didn't happen because they pretty much dummy-proof it and give you a map. Elizabeth thought it was pretty cool and they have a ton of stuff for little kids at this place. They have a petting zoo that had goats, lion cubs (no petting allowed there), ostriches, llamas, spider monkeys (no petting went on there either...those things are mean), kangaroos, and some horses. Sadly with all the other cool animals that she won't get many opportunities to pet often again, she decided the goats were the coolest. She had seen goats one other time when we took her on her first zoo trip so we think that spawned her new interest in goats. We will likely own one someday now and I hope it eats the grass so we don't have to spend time mowing it again (that's a joke, I wouldn't know what to do with a goat). She also got to see the pig races, the giant corn pen that you could play in, and a big slide.

Elizabeth's Halloween Costume

So we have spent days and hours thinking about the perfect Halloween outfit for Elizabeth's First Halloween. We decided to go with an animal theme since she will probably want to be someone or some character the next few years. We wanted to make sure she wasn't going to dress up as some mainstream animal, so we chose this:
